Trans* and Faith Symposium in Akron on October 20th
Ohio Soulforce Delegate and longtime community activist Jacob Nash has organized a Trans* and Faith Symposium to set a platform for the much needed dialogue in Ohio across faith and spiritual communities to meet, and learn about transgender issues, racial and immigration justice.
Featured guest will be Jewish studies scholar, educator and theatrical performance activist, Peterson Toscano. Toscano will be performing the incredible piece, Transfigurations—Transgressing Gender in the Bible followed by a special panel discussion of across faith and spiritual leaders in the community about social justice.
The Trans* and Faith Symposium will be taking place in Akron at Resnik Community Learning Center this Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 1:30 – 6:30pm. This event is open to all communities interested in social and racial justice, transgender issues and across faith and spirituality with a suggested donation of $5 – $10. Refreshments will be provided.
